What is
Skin Resurfacing?

Skin resurfacing is the use of a precise and controlled medical-grade laser as well as pin-point needles to re-texturize the skin. Skin resurfacing allows new collagen and elastin fibers to become activated and provide skin hydration, smoothness, and a brighter complexion. The use of skin resurfacing promotes skin cell turnover, which allows new skin cells to surface.

Skin resurfacing is optimal for clients wishing to improve skin texture and tone, diminish the superficial appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and brighten evident sunspots and pigmented areas.

If you’re looking for a treatment that delivers the benefits of Skin Resurfacing, we’re happy to announce that Urban Beauty Bar now offers Morpheus8, Fractora, Microneedling, and Mesotherapy as skin resurfacing options.

Types Of
Skin Resurfacing Treatments

Fractora

Our Fractora treatment remolds your skin’s collagen levels and elasticity to help restore your skin to its youthful appearance. This treatment actively tightens the skin, smooths and reduces the appearance of wrinkles while minimizing pigmentation and uneven skin textures. Fractora utilizes radio frequency that emits heat along with a controlled needle headpiece to penetrate deep into the dermis and induce collagen production.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a skin therapy treatment actively targeting the reduction of fine lines, the removal of existing acne scars while improving your skin’s texture, tone, and color. Microneedling uses micro needles to puncture the skin in a controlled manner while infusing the skin with a Hyaluronic Acid serum. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally occuring within our body and contributes in providing our skin with moisture.

Lumecca IPL

Our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is utilized to treat pigmentation and vascular lesions which help brighten and clarify your skin’s complexion. The light radiating from this treatment targets harmful bacteria, while reducing apparent redness and inflammation.

Lumecca IPL Treatment at Urban Beauty Bar! That’s right we offer Lumecca IPL skin rejuvenation near you. IPL stands for “intense pulsed light.” It’s a light therapy that helps treat wrinkles, spots, and unwanted hair on the face, neck, and body.

Pigment cells in your skin absorb the intense pulsed light, which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwanted pigment in the case of sunspots and freckles. In the case of unwanted hair, IPL destroys hair follicles to prevent the hair from growing again.

IPL can be used anywhere on your body, but it may not work as well on uneven areas. For example, IPL isn’t recommended for people prone to getting thick, raised keloid scars or those who have darker skin tones. It’s also not as effective on light-colored hair as it is on darker hair.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a skin therapy treatment that punctures the skin to penetrate natural nutrients and vitamins into the skin’s layers. The penetration of these natural serums boosts your skin’s ability to increase its collagen and elastin turnover.

Does Facial Rejuvenation require multiple treatments?

Facial Resurfacing treatments typically require nine months of treatment. During this time, you’ll need three to six treatments spaced out every four to six weeks to see full results. The exact number of treatments will vary by skin type and skin concern.

Forma Skin Tightening
Post-Care

Because laser skin resurfacing involves removing the top layer of your skin, redness and swelling will be inevitable right after your procedure. All you need to do is follow our customized pre-care instructions so you can significantly decrease the chances of dramatic swelling.

First off, if you are taking medications such as Ibuprofen, aspirin, or Vitamin E, you must not take any for at least 7 days prior to your procedure. In addition, we also encourage clients who smoke to refrain from doing so for at least two weeks before they are set to receive the treatment.

In terms of skincare treatment prior to your appointment, please refrain from using topical treatments in the meantime. While you can certainly cleanse and moisturize your skin as usual, anything strong like retinol should be avoided.

Before you come in for your appointment, we’ll provide you with more detailed pre-care recommendations.

Is it Safe

Skin resurfacing is a safe procedure that is performed by our highly trained medical aestheticians at Urban Beauty Bar. We apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort. After the treatment, we provide clients with a full post-treatment protocol to ensure the fastest, safest, and most effective healing process.
